CENTURY BAKERY
A South Jersey classic since the 1930s, Century Bakery dishes out dutch delicacies from a curbside window in the heart of one of America’s most blighted cities. In 2019, Ventures in Advocacy purchased the bakery and transformed it into a social enterprise funding job opportunities for local homeless and foster youth.
We are now looking to expand our team at Century--come help us grow!
We are currently seeking a General Manager to drive revenue and career opportunities. The role is also dedicated to maintaining the highest quality of product while achieving profitability targets. The ideal candidate would have a passion in customer service and mentorship.

About Us
Hometown favorite and a staple of Bridgeton since the 1930s, Century Bakery has captured the hearts of locals with unparalleled sweets for decades--and since 2019 our unique, old-school treats have delivered the promise of supporting a remarkable cause.
After over 35 years running the bakery, former owners Wayne and Barbara Ernst began a formal partnership with Ventures in Advocacy, a group of local Bridgeton nonprofits dedicated to advocating for social justice and meeting the immediate needs of the local community. Century has since been transformed into a social enterprise--a business organized for a charitable purpose.
As a social enterprise, Century now offers the local community both baked goods and a job training program for foster youth to learn, grow, and succeed. We believe that everyone deserves a chance to pave a positive pathway for their future.
