Education is a key component for a bright and thriving future. No child should go without their basic school supplies and Operation South Jersey wants to help make sure they are prepared for a successful new school year! Their goal is to collect 300 new book bags and fill them with basic school supplies. (There's a list down below!)
For the second year in a row, Hillary Nichols is collecting book bags and school supplies for children in need. In 2017, she collected 400 book bags and distributed them to families in South Jersey served by organizations here at the Hopeloft, such as Families to College, the Family Strengthening Network, and Court Appointed Special Advocates of Cumberland, Gloucester, and Salem Counties.
Now, for 2018, she has partnered with the Division of Child Protection & Permanency to collect school supplies and another 400 book bags for kids across Salem and Gloucester counties. The deadline for donations is August 17th! After that date, the book bags will be stuffed with supplies and handed out to the children who need them.
This drive will help provide school supplies to foster kids and teens through CASA of CGS and the Gloucester County and Salem County DCP&P offices. Any donations exceeding their goal will be distributed to our partners at Families to College and the Family Strengthening Network.
