10 Things to do with Kids During Isolation

Updated: Jun 17, 2020

As much as we love our families, being cooped up with them 24/7 can, at times, be stressful—especially if there is no structure or routine. So, to help ease the pressure during this trying time, we have come up with a quick list of ten fun activities to do with your kids while self-isolating!

Get Your Eat On

Grab your pans and spatulas and whip it up in the kitchen! Teach your kids a recipe they love or learn a new one together! Check out Pinterest for endless finger-licking meals.

This Is How We School It

No school should not mean no learning—but who says learning can’t be fun? Occupy your kiddos while they are out of school with a host of websites that offer free, online lessons and activities. Access the websites here.

The Cape May Zoo Virtual School and other zoos are doing free live feeds and lessons on their animals.

Or learn a new language together with Duolingo!

Supa Dupa Sky

Get some fresh air with your kids and play outside together! Kick around a ball, do some outdoor yoga, or play hide-and-seek!

Have You Ever Seen the Game

Dig up your old board games, card games, and video games for some family fun!

Tearin’ Up My Art When I’m With You

Sprawl out on the dining room table and let your creativity explode on paper! Your kids will love a bit of arts and crafts time to express themselves through painting, drawing, sculpting, building, and creating in all its forms!

Let Me See Your Buildz

Upgrade your movie night by building a blanket fort around the TV! Snuggle up inside and enjoy the show!

Pop, Lock, and Prop It

It’s lights, camera, action—grab your props and put on a show for the crowd! Let your kids dazzle their audience (you) with their many talents in a living room talent show, watch them as they perform their very own music video renditions of popular songs, or cheer them on during their funny improv skits!

Please Don’t Stop the Music

Spend some time teaching your child how to play an instrument—a skill which they can use for the rest of their lives! Or maybe learn and practice a new instrument together! After all, music is a world within itself with a language we all understand. So sing and let that music blast throughout your house for some self-quarantine fun!

Dance, Dance

Dance the night away with your little ones! Teach them some old school moves, learn some new dances, and maybe even go viral on TikTok with your routine!

The Cleveland Inner City Ballet studio will also be offering free online ballet classes and tutorials on their Facebook to keep your little ones active and occupied while at home.

Phresh Off the Runway

Serve some looks and host a fashion show right in your living room! Your kids will have a blast putting crazy outfits together and you will too!
